Briefing

Sayonara Wild Hearts is not a long or difficult game to platinum, but you will need to dig into it to achieve 100%.  The game requires you to memorize some of the tracks so that you understand what hazards to avoid and where the square collectibles are located.



This makes it difficult to put the game away for a few days, and then try to come back to it.  Unless your memory is impeccable, you’ll likely forget some of the key points.

There are 23 tracks (songs) in total.  The trophies in this game are unlocked via the Zodiac Riddles.  Use the clues from the riddles to satisfy the conditions required to complete them to unlock the trophy.

Each of the tracks are associated with the Major Arcana.

Difficulty

There are no missable trophies in this game.  The hardest trophy to obtain is probably the Aquarius B trophy, which requires you to get at least Bronze rank in Yolo Arcade.  Yolo Arcade is unlocked after getting Gold rank in all of the tracks.

If you’re able to at least complete the first half of the game with Gold rank performance, then it’s easily achievable.

1. Play through the game all the way through once (unlocks Album Arcade).
2. Play through the game again: 1) going for Gold Rank (unlocks Yolo Arcade), and 2) unlock trophies.
3. One playthrough through Album Arcade (Capricornus B trophy).
4. Another playthrough on Yolo Arcade (Gemini B & Aquarius B trophies).

If you prefer to Gold Rank each track immediately (skipping Step 1), that’s fine.  You can tailor this however you want.

Scoring

The scoring is as follows:

Small heart equals 1 point.  Outlined heart equals 25 points.  Square equals 1000.  Quick-time prompts can be up to 250 for a Perfect.

There are some other possible ways to score points, such as getting a Risky, Boost, Slide, Knockouts, etc.  These points vary.

The key to getting high scores is to collect as many Outlined Hearts as possible, and not die (hit any obstacles).

Outlined Hearts are different than the others in that they stack.  Your first heart will be 25, but your second one will be 50 (+25 from the 1st, and +25 for the 2nd).



After collecting your 49th Outlined Heart without dying (which is worth 1,225), your 50th one will be worth 1,500.  Dying RESETS your Outline Hearts counter back to +25.

Of course, you should also attempt to get the squares if you can, since they are 1000 each.

But consider this: there are some Squares located late in some tracks that you may want to ignore in favor of the Outlined Hearts.  You’d have to collect 40 Outline Hearts to equal 1000 points.

After this point, if you are forced to choose between Squares or Outlined Hearts, go for the hearts.  This tip leans more towards the later tracks which are longer.

All Done – Unlock all trophies

Unlock all other trophies.

Aries A – Solved the first Aries riddle

“There is no place for me on the podium of a starway.”

Get no rank in Clair de Lune.  Don’t score above the Bronze rank threshold of 5000 points.

Taurus A – Solved the first Taurus riddle

“I find squares in every corner of the world.”

Collect all 68 squares throughout all the songs.

Gemini A – Solved the first Gemini riddle

“A magician made three of my wishes come true where one became two.”

In Hearts & Swords, hit obstacles repeatedly until the game prompts you to skip that section.  Accept the offer.  Do this three times.

Cancer A – Solved the first Cancer riddle

“Twenty times I risk my life without failing where a diabolical trinity appear.”

In Doki Doki Rush, get a Risky! twenty times.  I did this by getting very close to the cars in the traffic.

Leo A – Solved the first Leo riddle

“Three are the times goldenly I began again.”

In Begin Again, get Gold rank three times.  I believe they have to be done consecutively.

Virgo A – Solved the first Virgo riddle

“With the smallest of efforts I knock out.”

In Begin Again, get a knock out with just a single button press.  You can do this by waiting out the timer allowed to punch.

Libra A – Solved the first Libra riddle

“Small blood pumps are cursed among snaps and claps.”

In Parallel Universes, complete the track while avoiding the small hearts.

Scorpius A – Solved the first Scorpius riddle

“Like a worthless chariot I drift in the night.”

In Night Drift, don’t score any points at all.  You’ll have to avoid all the hearts, and also avoid initiating a drift, which will award points.

Sagittarius A – Solved the first Sagittarius riddle

“From a golden sun to a silvery star I go to a tower of bronze.”

Complete Inside with a Gold rank, then Heartbreak V with a Silver rank, then Heartbreak III with a Bronze rank.

Capricornus A – Solved the first Capricornus riddle

“I am the perfect emperor.”

In Forest Ghost, get a Perfect! on every jump or prompt.

Aquarius A – Solved the first Aquarius riddle

“With the card of the solitary one I appear oppositely forty times.”

In Heartbreak IV, you’re able to go pass the edge of the screen and appear opposite to the other edge.  Do this forty times.

Once you appear on the other side, don’t continue crossing the entire screen.  Just change direction.

Pisces A – Solved the first Pisces riddle

“In the flat space I slip between two bullets quadruple times.”

In The World We Knew, fly between two bullets shot from the airships.  This is only possible from the ships that are shooting bullets vertically.

Aries B – Solved the second Aries riddle

“I was consecutively in a hurry in ten different places.”

In ten different tracks, pause the game and choose to Skip Cutscene.  You can exit the song immediately after doing this to proceed to a new track.  Some tracks don’t have intro cutscenes.

Taurus B – Solved the second Taurus riddle

“I took a dozen quick breaks.”

In any song, pause the game and resume twelve times.

Gemini B – Solved the second Gemini riddle

“You only live once yet I risk my life ten times.”

In Yolo Arcade, get a Risky! ten times.  Getting close to objects awards the Risky! prompt.

Cancer B – Solved the second Cancer riddle

“Reborn in a daydream my secret is in the left eye four times.”

In Reverie, fly through the left eye obstacle four times.

A user commented that you can die in the next obstruction after flying through the left eye, and the game will allow you to repeat the section.  This would unlock it faster than replaying the stage.

Leo B – Solved the second Leo riddle

“Up is down and down is up where I slid twenty-five times.”

In Transonic Gravity, slide twenty-five times.  You initiate a slide by veering either left or right for a certain period of time.

Begin on one side of the roadway, and veer towards the other for as long as possible without crashing.  The roadway is just wide enough that you should initiate the Slide! before hitting the wall.

Virgo B – Solved the second Virgo riddle

“I heard her sing goodbye before my journey to the sky began.”

Listen to the entire opening song on the Main Menu (which is “Sayonara Wild Heart“), and then play and complete Hearts & Swords.

Libra B – Solved the second Libra riddle

“Just from here I traveled ten years back in time.”

From the main menu, enter the Zodiac Riddles menu.  From here, turn the zodiac wheel counter-clockwise ten full rotations to unlock this trophy.

Scorpius B – Solved the second Scorpius riddle

“In a devilish fight I am only good.”

During Fighting Hearts, get only Good! in the quick-time prompts.

Sagittarius B – Solved the second Sagittarius riddle

“Inside I spin a thousand and eighty degrees.”

In Inside, while you get to the area of the track that resembles a tunnel, you can spin around three times to get 1080 degrees.

Capricornus B – Solved the second Capricornus riddle

“My secret is a majority of squares where all music play.”

In Album Arcade, collect at least half of all the squares.  You unlock the trophy at the Final Results screen.

Aquarius B – Solved the second Aquarius riddle

“With only one attempt I stand on the podium.”

In Yolo Arcade, get at least Bronze rank (250,000 or more).

Pisces B – Solved the second Pisces riddle

“Happiness is a quintet of squares where one journey ends.”

In Wild Hearts Never Die, collect all the squares (5 in total) in a single playthrough.
